Reunion & 55th Anniversary Celebration Dinner

On October 14, 2011 the past and present joined together to celebrate 55 years of California Christian College. The evening kicked off with a song by Sounds of Joy: Jessica Young, Scott Barron, Andrea (Barron) Jackson, Lisa (Barron) Cross, Denise (Jackson) Nicholes, Jason Hatwig on djembe and Adam Temple on mandolin. CCC Board Chairman, Allen Kennedy welcomed everyone and blessed the tri-tip meal. 

Our trip down memory lane started at the beginning days of California Bible Institute under our first presidents, Dean Moore and Gene Rogers. Current president Wendell Walley interviewed Dr. Edgar Hyatt and Dr. Charles Marshall. We continued on to the 70's and the days of expansion under Presidents Wade T. Jernigan and Dan Parker. We were blessed with songs from  The Second Miler's Quartet: Larry Condit, Kirk Stan Gullotto, Stan Barron and Bruce Wood on keyboard. After being "blessed" by Phil Wood singing The Cajun Dean we moved on to the days of expansion under presidents John Smith and James McAllister. Sounds of Joy  lead us in some more worship which brought us into the 21st century and current president, Wendell Walley.

President Walley brought to our attention some of the needs of CCC. Please be in prayer with us for our enrollment; on campus and on-line. We can always use volunteers and workers. We are in need of energy efficient windows in the dorms, heating and cooling units, and computer upgrades. (If you'd like to help out give us a call at 559-251-4215.)

The night wound down with worship lead by Roger Flanery and a devotion by the VP of Academic Affairs, Dr. James Cox.  California State Association Moderator, Rick Scroggins closed it out in prayer. We ended with $19,150 raised and about 200 in attendance. It was great to see you all! Thank you so much for your support of CCC. Let's do it again next year!
